October in the Bubble

Autumn. Playdough. Training. Sponsors. Chihuhuas. Stuff

rain 45 °F

This year has certainly held a lot of change, a lot of action and a lot of just pure awesome.

I've moved twice, traveled a ton, competed in 16 races with consistently stronger performances from start to finish, all after picking myself up and getting put back together after a rough 2013 winter/early spring....it's interesting how I managed to live so long in survival mode without even realizing it. Anyways. As the dust settles from a busy season, I am able to recognize the fact that I'm feeling pretty darn put together. Valuing friendships, relationships and family with a renewed priority / passion has been empowering. Very often I've been findng myself being consciously thankful for all those things that we so easy take for granted....like our health. Reflection Complete.

Now, the goodies.....

Spending time around such a curious, intelligent and genuine hearted kiddo keeps me sane. Playing outside, collecting leaves, and digging in the dirt keeps me grounded. Having him educate me on recycling, lead me in yoga stretches or observing how his peer group cares for one another gives me immense hope for the future. So, yeah...work is going well.
Playdough. No wonder every kid at some point in their life tries to eat it....it smells pretty darn good!

EK Team Runs are back on which is exciting. I look forward to Tuesdays quite a bit. There's just something about those EK Endurance Kids...nicest bunch of athletes in all of Boulder. Boom. #Fact. Swimming a new plan, it's been a while since I haven't been able to make every interval in a set. Woof. Determined to stick with it, dial in the technique and get faster. It always about getting faster.
Not a bad looking bunch celebrating Elizabeth's next chapter. Congrats to an amazing friend and talented athlete!

Quote of the day:

“Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.” -Stephen A. Brennan
