It's Monday....The world isn't ending.

Do more of what you love

Internal Dialogue 4:22am: "Oh dear god, it can't be time to go already. Ugh. Get up. Get up. Come on Aubrey, you have to get to swim practice. 3-2-Ready...Go. Omph. That's alright, let's try that one more time.....
Internal Dialogue 6:31am: "That was amazing! Well, if amazing means 'incredibly challenging and at times highly brutal' Alright Monday, you are MINE, I will own you. 6:30am and already a champion of productivity. Coffee. Coffee. Go get coffee!"

Monday mornings are growing on me. It's great to get in the water before the sun, and to start the day with some momentum. Even on days like today when it is dark and snowing....in MAY!?

Q: What is under-loved and under-appreciated?

A: MONDAYS
There are the ten's of thousands of e-cards, memes and jokes about the 'dreaded Monday'. It seems to me that Mondays are A Beginning...and shouldn't beginnings be embraced? A chance to start fresh, new, motivated, maybe even a little excited? Perhaps if one is so distraught about what starting the next 5 days means....some re-visiting may need to happen about how those 5 days are being spent in the first place. If 'work' or 'real life' makes you want to slam your head against your desk until you pass out....time for a life inventory. Not to say that everyday can be ALL sunshine and rainbows, but life is meant to be lived. And lived boldy. If you find yourself counting the hours until your next day off....time to get some balance back in your life, because 2/7 days is not enough.
Do more of what you love.
And start today, MONDAY!

Other News:

I've been getting asked a lot about when I will start racing "Pro"
So, here is the answer: The bulk of this season I will continue to race in the Amateur field. Why?

1. I want to enter this next level with the ability to be truly competitive. The goal of "not finishing last" just is not going to do it for me.

2. It is important to learn how to race, learn how to win and just learn. Getting another handful of highly competitive events under my belt will be really useful in the transition. After Hy-Vee 5150 Championships I'll submit for my license and am planning on 2-3 pro races between October and early November. Woot Woot.

Next Event: Summer Open Triathlon. Looking forward to this one, maybe because everyone and their mom is doing it. Great people will be out there tuning up for the season and going fast.
Race more, learn more, be more.

Quote of the moment: "Do your best....but how do you know it's your best....because you don't, you have no reason not to try harder"

Here's to peace, beginnings and making things happen,
-Aubs
